ABOUT US
Bringing Theatre Back to the Grove
Welcome to the Coconut Grove Theatre Festival (CGTFest)—a new festival showcasing some of Miami’s most exciting playwrights, directors, and actors. From May 8-11, 2025, CGTFest will bring eight bold new plays to life at the Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove (WCCG), turning this historic venue into a stage for fresh, locally-driven theatre in the heart of one of Miami’s legendary arts district.
This festival is more than just a weekend of theatre—it’s a movement to revive Coconut Grove’s legendary arts scene. From Walter De Garmo’s 1920s amphitheater to the U.S. premiere of Waiting for Godot at the Coconut Grove Playhouse, this neighborhood has long been a home for theatre that pushes boundaries and shapes culture. Now, we’re bringing that legacy into the future, one play reading at a time.
